A Cloud Gazing Kind of Day

We’ve been having really good weather lately and last Tuesday, as T walked out of the house for the school run in the morning, we noticed Toy Story like-clouds hovering above us.  It was beautiful. Temperature has also improved, but since we live by the coast, it can still be chilly especially when there’s a breeze.  But I’ve been defiant and have been wearing my sandals to do the school run.

A few days ago, before heading off to pick up little T from school, I stood in our little back garden enthralled by the clouds.  On one side it was the bluest of blue, on the other side it was blue with puffy white clouds, and if you just moved your head a bit you’d see a combination of blue, puffy white and grey clouds.  Look another way, you’d see the grey clouds closing in.  Another turn and all you’ll see are grey clouds in a span of a few seconds.

Aren’t they just amazing? I can spend the whole day just cloud-gazing and it was the same yesterday afternoon, as we drove off to T’s swimming lessons, everywhere around us we saw lovely fluffy white clouds against the bluest of the blue skies.  And it looks like today is another good day.

Now if only this lasts and that tomorrow or everyday we wake up to just blue skies and puffy white clouds.  I know, I might as well ask for unicorns too, because we all know that’s just not going to happen, well at least here in the UK.

Have you been noticing the clouds in your area too?

Do share.

Gorgeous! There’s something beautiful and relaxing about watching clouds, isn’t there? One of the most lovely things about spring coming in – the blue sky against the clouds.

    • Wore wellies a lot too, until after the Easter break. Hopefully it will last. Will try to send over some blue skies and sunshine 😉 x

    • Cloud watching at a park sounds lovely too 🙂 Actually you can do it anywhere, even by your window 😉

What gorgeous photos – I really need to make more time to just stop and watch the clouds scudding across the sky. I did snap a shot of a similar sky, with proper fluffy white clouds against the blue, as I was walking home this week though.

    • I know… It’s the little things, isn’t it? Like cloud-gazing or as the clichè goes, stopping to smell the flowers, or in our case as bloggers – stopping to take photos of clouds or flowers 😉 x

Alice has started to notice clouds and tells me when she spots one that looks like something. I used to love just lying on the grass and watching the clouds move across the sky, sadly no time for that lately! x

Lol hopefully if you wear your sandals the bad weather might stop. There is however something so comforting about clouds.

I used to always lie on the floor and find shapes in the clouds when I was younger. Think I should do it with my daughters x

    • I used to do that too as a child and when T was a toddler, haven’t done it lately. Like you, I ought to do it to now that she’s older 🙂

    • Oh no. I was very brave today and wore my sandals even if it was raining. Luckily for me, it stopped 😉 x

  6. I love watching the clouds. I used to lie on my bed as a child and imagine them as creatures and people depending on the shapes. We had a conversation at work the other week where only 2 of us had ever heard of looking for shapes in the clouds. It was a normal thing to me!

    • Wow, really? Perhaps more people should do it then? Or maybe we could start some sort of cloud-gazing club 😉

Beautiful pictures, I love cloud gazing too. When I was a young teenager I even bought a book about different types of clouds. Go you wearing your sandals on the school run too, I’ve moved from boots to pumps but still have to wear my socks with them cause it’s freezing here in the south of Ireland!

    • I can imagine how cold it still must be. Would love to visit Ireland 🙂
