The temperature has really dropped this week and our little family has also been down with a bad cold and awful cough.  In fact, little T has been off school for a couple of days.  She’s back now, in spite still having that dreadful cough.  So our week was mostly spent sniffing, tissues all over, and our house sounding as if we were housing a couple of seals!  It was that bad.

On a happier note, we’re almost done with our Christmas shopping.  Packages have started to arrive on our doorstep, making me feel really excited, especially since we managed to get everything on little T’s Christmas list.  Some of her presents are now safely tucked-away in our shed.  Will start wrapping them next week, once we’ve managed to get all the Christmas stuff down from our attic.  This is what makes winter so much fun and bearable.  You can almost forgive all that greyness, dull and cold weather.

Oh and the sun has also been out, as if cheering us on, towards Christmas.  For how long, I absolutely have no idea.  For now, I’m going to bask in it – wrapped though, in full Winter gear.

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

You’ve already done your Christmas shopping?! Now I feel particularly useless! I hope you all feel better soon!

    • Calm down 😉 Not all. I’m not as organised as the other lovely mummy bloggers out there… I wish! 🙂 Thanks we’re all better. Hope all is well in Italy too! x

      • livinginthelanghe

Are any of those blogger mummies actually real? They all seem just too perfect! Our Christmas shopping will be done in mid-December, as it always is, and everyone will get either pasta or wine! 🙂

  2. Stephanie (@LifeAt139a)

Well done on the Christmas shopping, that sounds v organised – hope the coughs and colds clear up quickly too. The seal analogy made me smile though #wotw

  3. Yes, the endless dull and grey can get a bit depressing can’t it. How wonderful that you’re almost organised though-I’m three quitters there I think, (and hope!)

    • Same here! Let’s hope we all get our list of things-to-do done and dusted soon 🙂 x

  4. The Vanilla Housewife

I have our tree but but that’s about it. No matter how many times I tell myself to shop ahead, I always end up doing it a few days before Christmas! Sometimes I think I’m creating my own headaches. LOL

    • Hahaha. Good luck Jhanis. I must say though, I don’t miss the Manila traffic and Christmas crowd. Maddening! Hope you get your shopping sorted out soon!

  5. Kim Carberry

I have just about finished the present buying too….It’s very exciting!
Sorry to hear your family hasn’t been too well! I hope you are all feeling better soon x

  6. I’m glad little T is feeling better. It’s awful when they are poorly. I’m so jealous that you have finished your xmas shopping, I haven’t even started mine!

    • Oh don’t worry, you still have time. I’ve started mine, but not really done yet. Still have a few other pressies to buy 😉

  7. thereadingresidence

Hope you’re all on the up now then. Sounds like Christmas is on it’s way in your house, which definitely brightens the grey 🙂 Thanks for sharing with #WotW x

    • Yes, we are thanks! Yep, Christmas is definitely starting to happen in our little home 😉

  8. Poor little T, glad she is feeling better now. Am very impressed with how organised you are on the Christmas shopping front – have only just started mine! #WotW

    • I still have a bit of shopping to do… like presents for the in-laws. Shh. Don’t tell them we haven’t bought their presents yet! 😉

  9. Kate @ Did That Just Happen?

We had several cold days… and even though we get up to 77 dg F today, I don’t think it will be enough to thaw me out, as Monday the temps drop 20 or more degrees! I hope that everyone is feeling better! (And I have one last order to place on line and I’m totally done! I may actually break out White Christmas DVD tonight while Mr. T is at work and wrap presents!! )

    • My husband and little T just watched The Christmas Carol dvd. Two packages are currently standing in our porch right now. Can’t take them in yet, little eyes will pry. Hopefully I’ll manage to start wrapping presents next week. Oh I do envy you, just one last order. As for us, we still have a few, but getting there!

  10. naptimethoughts

We had a nasty virus too, a couple weeks back. I’m still coughing. I bought all my “frozen” stuff for my daughter before halloween– and it’s a good thing I did. I finished the kids yesterday… Now for everyone else. Sigh.

    • Oh hope you’re feeling better… At least you already have some ‘frozen’ stuff. Your daughter will be happy! Same here. Still have a few to order. Double sigh.

      • naptimethoughts

Good luck. Frozen stuff has doubled in price… If you can find it. That Frozen dollhouse? used to be 89 dollars? skyrocketed to 179.99. It’s unbelievable. SO glad I bought her dollhouse first.

        • Oh my goodness, really? Is that the castle? Then I’m glad little T changed her mind about that. Phew. Instead she wants a live Woody, live Michaelangelo and live Donatello. While she loves Frozen, at the moment, she is so into Teenage Ninja turtles too. The Donatello was a second thought, we’ve got the first 2 toys she asked. Now have to hunt for a bloody live Donatello!

Same time last year we all had the virus available in school. My son picked it up and we would just have one of them every week. Now though its different though we are exposed to the elements we hadn’t had any sick days (yet). Hopefully it will stay that way.

Get well soon to all of you there.

Decor is going out next week in our house as well. Hopefully that will help with uplifting our spirits =)

  12. snaphappybakes

Ooo it is cold isn’t it! But I agree Christmas does make the cold bearable! Such an exciting time! #wotw

  13. It does sound like there have been lots of horrid bugs doing the rounds at the moment – we’ve been suffering a bit too – I hope you’re all feeling a lot better 🙂

  14. hurrahforgin

Brrrrr its turned freezing today here Dean! We’ve also all been ill, i’ve had a terrible cough which is so irritating! Hope Little T is back to full health soon xx

  15. Life in the Wylde West

I’m wishing you well and health. I do hope you all feel better soon. Plus I seem to remember you being on top of Christmas last year! I admire that. This way you can fully enjoy the month.

  16. It’s very hot over here. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and a beautiful New Year. xx Rowena

    • Oh I’m envious! Temperature has risen a bit,but it’s cold. Thank you and here’s hoping for more blessings for you and your family in 2015! 🙂
