Day Lilies in Our Garden

Since moving in our new home last May, we don’t really know what flowers grow in our garden, so it was a lovely surprise when I noticed these flowers growing a few weeks ago.

I didn’t know what they were, but knew that they were a type of lily.  I posted a photo on Instagram and someone suggested that it might be a Day Lily.  I thanked the person and googled, and sure enough, she was right.  Don’t you just love Instagram for that?

I’ve always loved looking at rain or dew drops on petals.

As mentioned on previous posts, we haven’t really done much gardening apart from mowing the lawn.  It’s lovely though to get surprises like these in our garden.  Since arriving in our new home, I feel like our garden is presenting us with gifts or offerings, so far we’ve been given daffodils, bluebells, lilies and other beautiful wild flowers.  I feel so much blessed – thank you.  By next year, we’ll be able to tell what kind of beauties grow season by season.

Can’t wait to see what other lovely flowers will bloom in our garden.

Do you like flowers?

    • Thanks Gemma 🙂 I’m actually not a big fan of lilies but I think I’m liking them more now 🙂

I love lilies but can’t have them in the house due to the hubby’s & kids allergies. We’ve just pulled our the bushes that line our little front garden so I think I’m going to plant some lilies there as the kids play out back

That’s beautiful… you’re lucky I to have all these flowers growing in your garden. I love sweet peas, very colorful with the most gorgeous scent too.

    • My husband used to grow them in our old house. He’s definitely planning to grow them again. I love them too, such dainty flowers 🙂

What a lovely surprise. I’ve tried growing them, but gave up after lily beetles moved in. Beautiful photos too. They look even better close up.

I grew up into flower as my mom is a florist, lilies are so beautiful. x

    • Oh how lucky! I love flowers too, although my mum isn’t a florist 😉 She loved flowers as well. x

These are so beautiful, Lillies are my favorite flower as well so I would love to grow them myself but unfortunately I am a bit of a flower killer and I heard lilies can be a bit fussy about the ground they are in but it looks like you wont have that problem! They are lovely!

    • I’m afraid I’m like you, I don’t have the green thumb. Luckily, my husband does 😉

Oh they’re beautiful. Lilies are my favourite though. I’m rubbish at gardening so we don’t even have any flowers.

I haven’t done much gardening this year either. Usually we are all out pottering around the garden but the weather hasn’t been great. It’s lovely that your gl garden is sort of presenting you with these gifts. Sometimes it’s nice to get a surprise in the form of flowers.

How pretty, I love the colour.

We have had quite a few self seeding plants this year, it’s always nice to have a surprise bloom appear.

    Fab captures 🙂 x

    • Thanks. It is, isn’t it? I’m really loving the surprises our garden gives us.
