I was first prescribed glasses when I was twelve-years-old. I hated it and would seldom wear it and keep it in my school bag. Of course they broke loads of times. In the end, my parents just got tired of buying me a new pair and nagging me to wear them. Somehow I survived and my eyes didn’t seem to get worse, I guess when you’re young, you’re invincible.
But now that I’m older and in my early 40s, I definitely feel the need to wear them. But somehow they never seem to get my prescription right. I’ve wasted two pairs of glasses, discarded them, because they didn’t do me any good and just went on my usual way and I thought, or tried to convince myself that I don’t really need them … yet.
A few weeks ago though, without telling me, my husband scheduled an appointment with the optometrist. So the next thing I knew, I was having my eye-test done and picking new glasses.
I’m happy to share that I’m typing this right now wearing my new pair of glasses and the world is finally clear. The TV is on right now with the news and if I glance up, I can actually see the pores of the presenters. It is that clear!
Hello world! It’s nice to see you clearly. Now excuse me while I go and check if I’m married to Richard Gere or I’m probably wearing the wrong pair again 😉
Do you wear glasses?
Do you like wearing them?
