What It’s All About

Just a couple of more sleeps and it’s Christmas once again.  For parents of younger children, this is when the magic happens.  Of course, Christmas is all about family, being with family, at least it is for me.  But as a mother of a three-year-old (and I can speak for my husband too), for us, this priceless look on our daughter’s face as she opens up all her presents is what Christmas is all about for us.  Whatever stress we had is all wiped out in those precious moments when her face lights up, and you hear her giggles and squeals after opening each single present no matter how big or small it is.  Yep, definitely worth it!

This is little T opening her presents last year, the look of happiness on her face is absolutely immeasurable and so worth everything!  Don’t you agree?

So if you’re feeling the stress right now, just think of what Christmas means to you and it might just disappear.  And if that doesn’t work, a few drops of brandy in your coffee might do the trick.

Have a lovely Christmas everyone!

I just love that photo Dean – T looks like she’ll explode she’s so excited. It really is about the kids isn’t it I can’t wait to see POD’s face, just hope I can get some photos of her looking excited! Have yourself a wonderful Christmas, hard to believe it’s so close now! Thank you for sharing with #whatsthestory

    • Oh I’m excited for you and POD too! 🙂 Maybe you can delegate the camera to your husband so you guys won’t miss the moment? 🙂 Hope you guys have a special Christmas too. x

  2. Kate @ Did That Just Happen?

I still love the moment when a gift is opened and that look of “yes!!! this is what I wanted!!”
But, I laughed so hard at the few drops of brandy! That was just spot on! 🙂

    • Yes, the look is priceless… Like I said if that doesn’t work, perhaps the brandy will! Hahaha.

  3. hurrahforgin

Totally agree, unless they hate the present then that’s not quite so nice 😉

Love the photo – pure delight x

    • True, but the thing with young children, they’ll love anything no matter how small or big the present is – at least T is like that! 🙂 This of course won’t last.

I totally agree, Christmas is magically once you see it through your child’s eyes. Monkey has just turned 4 now and he is so excited, he really understands whats happening this year.

    • Oh yes, for the four-year-olds they must really know. Little T kinda knows too, but I don’t think not as much as a four-year-old would 🙂

  7. Sara (@mumturnedmom)

That is just the best photo! That really is what it’s all about. Have a wonderful Christmas xx

  8. adayindadslife

I totally agree the magic of seeing their faces first seeing their pile of presents then opening them is as you said priceless.

    • And it happened again this Christmas! Didn’t have photos like that one taken though. That one makes it even more priceless!
