I can’t believe the summer holidays will be over by Monday – T goes back to school as a Year 2 student. How did that happen? It seems like only yesterday she was a weepy little girl in reception and now she’s one of the “older kids”.
For the past couple of weeks or so, I’ve been ticking off my list of things to buy for T. Thank goodness last year’s uniforms (most of them) still fit her since I always get a size bigger. I did buy her some new tops though, they always get really stained at the end of term. I do envy those schools who have coloured tops instead of the classic white, at least the paint and ink stains won’t show so much. Now if only they changed their tops to blue! I wonder if parents can request that?
My word of the week is: List
The truth is, believe it or not, I’m not ready for T to go back to school just yet. I want her to have another week or so with us. She seems a bit indifferent about going back to school, neither excited nor disappointed that she’s going on Monday.
Now that school begins next week, in spite wanting more time with T, I’m actually read to hunker down for autumn, although if we were granted more lovely sunshiny weather of course, I’d still prefer that.
What about you?
Are you looking forward to your kids going back to school?
Are you ready for summer to end?
