Grab the Stick

Little T and Doc’s favourite game to play up the headland is ‘grab-the-stick’.  A game where cunningness and speed is of utmost importance.

You can’t catch me, says little T.

And off they both go, leaving the mummy behind.

The trick there is to walk really quietly and slowly, whispers Woody to Little T.

Ha, ha, you can’t catch me! Says Doc.

Oh, c’mon Doc.  You have to let me have a go with that stick! Little T pleads to her dog for a turn.

But that’s not how the game goes!  Says Doc running away from T again.  But you’re to fast for me!

Okay, fine.  Says Doc, slumping down on the grass.  You’re turn with the stick.

Little T looked at the slimy stick on the ground and changed her mind.

Let’s take a photo of our boots instead!  She squeals.

Humans!  Sighed Doc, so fickle fickleminded!

What’s your favourite game to play with your dog/pets?

  1. Doc does look very much like our Lady and has a seemingly similar mischievous glare. She was chasing soldier crabs and trying to eat/bite them on the waterfront tonight. Crazy dog!

    • Oh dear, hope the soldier crabs didn’t manage to nip her! 🙂 As for Doc, he’s rolled over into something again. His fur is matted in it! Ugh. He’s banned from the living room again.

      • Dean,
I sure know that experience. We drive back home tonight. It’s raining and we woke up to find Bilbo had stood in the rain yet again although Lady was dry. We wonder whether she used him as a raincoat. Hoping the dogs will be dry for the 2 hour drive home tonight xx Rowena

        • Oh they sound so cute! Love hearing about their adventures! Good luck on your drive home tonight. Have a safe trip! 🙂 xx

          • Thanks, Dean. Arrived home safely with two dry dogs. Geoff is back to work tomorrow which will be a rude shock. KIds are at the grandparents tomorrow and I’m going to unpack and try and work out what we’re going to be doing this year. Not quite back to reality yet as we still have a few more weeks of school holidays left but that’s going to fly by . Hope you are all well over there and it’s not too cold xx Rowena

          • Glad you guys got back home safe and sound! I’m sure the kids will enjoy the demeaning school holidays, but you’re right – it’s going to fly by really fast! 🙂 xx

  2. Coombe Mill

What a great walk out in the fresh air. Kids love running around in a field and they have even more fun if they can chase around a dog! Doc and Little T look like they have a great time running around together. Thanks for linking up with Country Kids.

Awww what a fun day out! Doc looks like my dog in Manila called Juanito. Little T and Dos are super best friends =) #countrykids

  5. Oh they look like they’re having so much fun – definitely a game of cunning and speed – thought it looks like speed is winning out!

  6. Love it – Little T and Doc look like they are having a lot of fun and I love Little T’s hat 🙂

  7. Kate @ Did That Just Happen?

so much fun! And what a great place to let Little T and Doc release all of that energy that we wish we could bottle and take ourselves!!

  8. Rosie @Eco-Gites of Lenault

LOL – nothing worse than a dog slobbered stick.

Many thanks for joining in the #AnimalTales – I love reading about what Doc is up to.

    • Little T is very fond of her dog, as wit her cat, although we seldom see her. She hasn’t been home in awhile 🙁
