P is for Paris

The Eiffel tower, probably one of the most photographed structure in the world.

Our Paris adventure was a chaotic one.  If you’re thinking of visiting and value your sanity, especially when travelling with a little one, don’t visit during the peak season.  It’s just pure utter madness.

I remember talking to the teenage daughter of the lovely Irish woman we met at the camp, who also travelled with us on the same bus to Paris, she said, “I didn’t think Paris would be like that!  Somehow I imagined that it would be different”  I interrupted her and said “You mean like in the movies?”  She immediately agreed.  I said I think we’ve all seen too many romantic love stories set in Paris.  Nevertheless, it is still a beautiful city and certainly worth visiting … just not in the tourist season…  More on our Parisian adventure later.

LOL, I can never go to Paris because I totally expect it to be like in the movies! I want to sit at a bistro and drink coffee and eat pastries! 🙂

    • Oh you can do all that! Just don’t expect upsound romantic music, friendly waiters and a gorgeous man with a thick French accent saying something as cliche as “Do you come here often?” Harhar 😛

Paris is wonderful. I used to visit often when I was a teenager and loved it. Haven’t been since I was a student. You are right. I bet it is one of the most photographed places.#AlphabetPhoto

    • Didn’t really enjoy Paris when we visited in the peak season. I want to return and experience it when it’s off peak, with lesser crowds. Will definitely be back!

I think that in any tourist attraction, peak season is a no no when you have a kid with you.Pretty nonetheless =) #alphabetphoto

    • Definitely! The problem is though, once our kids start school, the only time parents with young kids can get away or go on holiday is during the peak season. Oh well.

I traveled on a coach through Paris once that was crazy enough for me lol although I’d like to go into Paris and see all the wonderful sights it has to offer.

    • Definitely, Paris has a lot to offer and would want to go back too. Next time though, won’t do it in the summer! Crowds and the heat is not a good combination.

LOVE Paris! Would love to take the boys but yep, for the reasons you say i may wait until they are a tad older! x

    • Definitely want to go back too, and I understand why people do love Paris, and yes, maybe when the boys are older and don’t do it during the summer season! x

What do you mean it’s not like the movies *bubble bursts* I hope you had a great time anyway and it wasn’t too stressful. I think you’re right out of school holidays is probably wise. Hope all good, I’m gradually catching up now #alphabetphoto

    • Definitely not like in the movies! 😉 All is well on our side of England, hope the same is for you too 🙂 x
